5 Tips To Look Younger

Aesthetic Singapore - Mendis Aesthetics, located at Mandarin Gallery at Orchard Road Singapore, with over 16 years experience in advanced, non-invasive, non-surgical procedures that reverse the effects of aging. When our clients are not undergoing a relaxing treatment with us, we also encourage them look after themselves during their personal time.

Here are 5 tips that can help you stay aesthetically younger, even from home.

1. Keep Up With Your Skincare Routine

Cleansing, moisturizing and using sunblock will protect your skin against aging. If you’ve been doing this regularly, well done! But remember to use gentle, mild skin care products. Harsh products may strip the skin of its natural layer of oil or protection.

2. Exercise Regularly

Our skin is the largest, external organ in our body. Professor Mark Tarnopolsky, leading a team of Exercise Science researchers of McMaster University, have found that people over the age of 40 who exercise regularly have healthier skin which is closer to that of 20 and 30 year olds.

Hence, exercising not only keeps health problems at bay, it also seems to be a secret to keeping your skin youthful.

3. Drink At Least 8 Glasses of Water

When you’re dehydrated, your skin becomes dry, flaky, less elastic and becomes prone to damage and premature wrinkling, which is not an ideal aesthetic choice.

To avoid this from happening, simply make sure you stay hydrated by drinking at least 8-12 glasses of water a day.

4. Maintain a Healthy Diet

We can't stress this enough: A healthy diet is key to youthful appearances and living.

Include superfoods to your diet where possible, and definitely pile on more vegetables and fruits to your plate to get more vitamins and antioxidants. In Singapore, the list of healthy eateries continues to grow. Check out The Honey Combers article on where to go for healthy eating here.

5. Supplement Your Diet with Skin-Friendly Vitamins

Owing to our busy and hectic lifestyles, we may not get all the nutrition our body needs from meals. If that’s the case, consider supplementing your diet with vitamins that enrich your skin. Vitamins that are particularly good for the skin include vitamin A, C and E. Vitamin A helps to reduce acne; Vitamin C reduces wrinkles and Vitamin E can keep your skin and hair supple and soft.
