As you age, your face loses fatty tissue and the skin on the face begins to become in-elastic and droop. This results in a hollow look around the cheekbones, the appearance of a double chin or jowls and sagging skin on the neck which is referred to as “turkey neck”.
A facelift, or a rhytidectomy, is a procedure offered by aesthetic clinics to tighten the skin and give the face a more youthful appearance. If you decide to undergo facelift surgery, you will have to go under general anaesthesia and the surgery is invasive in nature. If these factors put you off, you can consider a thread lift, as it is minimally invasive and can be carried out under local anaesthetic.

In a threadlift procedure, you will be put under local anesthesia. Subsequently, a tiny entry will be made by the ear and fine threads made from PDO polydioxanone will be advanced along pre-marked contours. Once inserted, the number of threads criss-crossing the skin create volume and lift for the skin area being treated. A typical thread lift takes as little as one hour to perform (this is why thread lifts are often referred to as the “lunch hour lift”), but the length will depend on the number of threads the Dr. Mendis uses and the areas being treated. Thread lifts can be used to treat the forehead, nose, jaw, jowls and neck wrinkles.
