Aesthetic Singapore: Radiofrequency CPT (Comfort Pulse Technology) is widely regarded as one of the safest and most sought after treatments by our clients. An explanation of the science behind the procedure is in our explanatory video below:
Mendis Aesthetics offers non-surgical, non-invasive Aesthetic treatment options. With over 16 years experience, Book an Appointment with us to learn more.
1. Explanation of procedure
Radiofrequency utilises energy waves in the radiofrequency spectrum to work below the surface of the skin and address a wide range of skin imperfections. Radiofrequency is non-surgical so no incisions or piercings are made in the skin for the treatment. Radiofrequency can be used to treat wrinkly and uneven skin (including jowls), define features more prominently, and smooth and tone bulges and wrinkles. Radiofrequency is suitable for both the face and body and can be used to treat large areas as well as more targeted, small localised areas.
2. FAQ with doctor on procedure
a) Dr. Mendis, how long have you been performing Radiofrequency treatments? I have been performing Radiofrequency treatments for over 12 years.
b) When do you recommend Radiofrequency? I recommend Radiofrequency for patients with mild to moderate skin sagging and anyone who prefers a non-surgical approach to skin tightening.
c) What is a common misconception about Radiofrequency? Common misconceptions about Radiofrequency are that it is very painful or gives minimal results. In my experience, Radiofrequency CPT is both comfortable and effective.
3. Latest trends in the procedure Lately, we are seeing clients request for bi-annual Radiofrequency treatments for aging reversal.
4. Walk through of what happens during a treatment
Radiofrequency treatment can take about 45 minutes for small areas like the eyes and face and 90 minutes for larger body areas like the stomach and thighs.
First, an anaesthetic cream will be applied to the area to be treated. Following that, Dr. Mendis will use the Radiofrequency device to deliver targeted, focussed radiofrequency waves to the area of the skin that has been identified for treatment. Each time the treatment device touches your skin, you’ll feel a brief cooling sensation, followed by a deep but brief heating sensation, followed by another cooling sensation. The cooling sensations are designed to minimise the discomfort you feel during the treatment while the heating sensation is a sign that the deep layers of your skin are reaching effective temperatures for collagen remodeling.
In the latest model (Radiofrequency CPT), there is a vibration mode which allows a more comfortable procedure for patients who are ultra-sensitive to heat. Clients who have been with me for more than 10 years say the latest version (Radiofrequency CPT) is so comfortable it is like going for a facial.
